If Bellatrix keeps her alive, which she may do for a while, we may have a chance to rescue her later. It depends on what they do with her, where they decide to keep her, other things.
They may want her as a hostage, to try to influence our decisions or movements. They may want to force her to speak against the Order publicly, for propaganda purposes. They may want to turn her against us, again, probably for propaganda purposes. Or possibly Bellatrix is going to try again to use her as a lever on the Order.
I read this, and I actually considered for a moment....
I wondered whether it would give Ginny more time, a better chance of survival, if I gave Bellatrix what she wants. All the signs of agony, of desperation, helpless rants, that kind of thing?
But then I realised no, I can't do that. It would only help to destroy everything we've been working for with the Order, to demonstrate to everyone that Bellatrix is right, that everyone has to fold in the face of the pain she can dish out. And that she'll always win because her capacity for causing pain is limitless.
Which means that the best chance I have of cutting Ginny's pain short would be convincing Bellatrix I refuse to dance to her piping. I won't do everything I can to save my own daughter.
And Bellatrix will undoubtedly inform her of that, right before she kills her.
Oh, Rachel, I can't bear this.
Where is Ron? You haven't...you won't send him after Ginny?
Ron is in the field right now, helping Justin with something.
I would send him after Ginny if I thought he'd have a chance of success. Right now it would be a suicide mission. He's admitted as much.
About Bellatrix -- you'll drive yourself mad thinking in those circles. You don't have to say a word where she can see it for her to know what she's doing to you. I don't think she seriously expected to schism the Order, any more than we seriously expected her to take Maebh in trade.
I'm glad you haven't sent him on, yes, a suicide mission. I do think the field is the best thing for him right now; all us Weasleys feel best when we're being useful.
About Bellatrix--you're right. And Alice is right, too: the best thing of all is not to engage.
If Ginny is kept alive and allowed to use her journal...well, we'll deal with that if and when it happens.
She won't be able to read the Lock, but she'll have private messages. But you should assume that she'll be forced to read any messages she receives to Bellatrix.
Rachel, I'm...I'm very grateful. To have you in your present position, I mean. At least you know Bellatrix, and the way our enemy thinks and operates, and in the midst of this awfulness, I truly believe we can trust that you have the best chance of gauging what is the right thing to do.
If there isn't any right way, you'll have the best chance of any of us of seeing that, too.
I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'm dreadfully emotional, today, and perhaps I'm not making much sense. But I wanted you to know that.
Will you stop by soon? It's clear Bill wants to see you, but he doesn't want to interrupt you.

Well. I will do my utmost to keep myself and the rest of the family from dancing to Bellatrix's tarantella hex, no matter what happens.
