Before we get too close to Christmas, I think it might be a good idea for us to try to settle on a date for a holiday get together. Of course, I can't offer the Burrow since Percy's living here, although I'd be happy to cook and bring a lot of the food (as you know, I never need much of an excuse to whip up a feast!)

I assume we'll use use the same safe house we used last year?

I have a barter network get together on the 21st, but otherwise Arthur and I are quite open up until Christmas.

It's a coincidence you should ask about that, Molly.

We - that is, myself, Remus and Dora - have an invitation to extend to the Order: Christmas at ours.

Alice will have to provide the address. But we think it'll be a very useful place, once it's fixed up a bit.

We had to put it under Fidelius immediately because that was the only way to keep MLE from getting in. I dunno if they had the alarm on it themselves or if Cousin Narcissa kept that honour but either way, we're lucky no one was watching it all the time. Which is what I figured had to be the case.

Anyway. It's possible we could use it for the smuggling. But actually, we're thinking it might be more useful as a sort of headquarters for the Order. In London, that is.

You're lucky we're not all being ~~invited~~ commanded to attend another holiday season display of the mangled corpse of the Dread Rebel Black.

I cannot believe you took such a massive risk without letting the rest of us know.

The trouble with bringing this sort of thing to the Order first is that dozens of people would have got involved. In an attempt to protect Sirius we'd have endangered half the Order.

Whereas with just a handful of us, if MLE had arrived we'd have apparated or portkeyed away. The worst case was they'd have access to the house, and we wouldn't.

Have you had a chance to spend more time there yet?

This next weekend I ought to be able to come up again to help clean the place up a bit and help get ready for the party.

Last year, we had a few of the adults from Moddey come along -- and I was wondering if we could extend the invitation to Victor, Arabella, Stephen McGivern, and Jacinda. If it'd be a bit much to have everyone there, that's understandable, and we'd have to make special arrangements for Victor and Arabella as they can't get there on their own steam as it were, but that's something we can sort out. Just let us know.

It was Moony's idea and - well, Dora thought rather a lot of it, too.

We've been in and out of the place. Moony and I spent the full moon last night. In the cellar room, just in case Snape's Wolfsbane has any new side effects we didn't expect.

As for including the others, I wouldn't mind, but the square is under watch. So we may have to Apparate them to Laszlo's and then Floo in from there.

Hang on. Dora's telling me she wants someone who's not Alice to tell you the address, so you can check and make sure the Floo's really been disconnected from the network, even though it still works between Doughty Conduit and here - but that should be just because we were here when we performed the Fidelius.

So. Er. It's 12 Grimmauld Place. Give it a go and tell me, will you, whether it works or not?

Right. It should appear that there is no Floo into number 12 Grimmauld Pl, though really there is, but only if you've been invited by our secret keeper. The trouble is that there is no trouble for the three of us, because it's open to us.

Only that means we can't be completely sure it's not visible to everyone.

Mind you, MLE haven't come billowing out of the fire yet, so that's a fairly certain sign we've got it right. It would be nice to have that confirmed, though.
