We had a windstorm a couple of nights ago, and my goodness, what a mess. Most of the roof was torn off the goat shed. If it were summer this wouldn't be so much of a problem, but it's getting so cold that it must be repaired right away. Arthur climbed up on a ladder to take a look, thinking he could simply fix things with a few 'reparo' spells, but it quickly became clear that rot had set in under the eaves, and so we had to purchase new lumber and shingles and replace the roof entirely. Arthur and Bill are taking the day off to finish the job, and I certainly hope the nanny goats appreciate it, the ingrates. Oh dear, that certainly wasn't in the budget for this month!
